This is me! Stood on top of Scafell Pike; Englands highest mountain, 2 days after swimming the length of Lake Windermere; Englands longest lake.
I must say, seeing the lake from above was pretty spectacle. Like, AS IF it’s THAT long. So cool.
Anyways, if you’ve found this post before my ABOUT page then you may not know that it’s my most recent and biggest achievement yet, swimming Lake Windermere, that is.
A total of 17K (planned), with head wind against me the entire way (not planned).
LET ME TAKE YOU BACK IN TIME
It started fresh faced and sunny…
Full of positivity…
Quickly turning cold…
Very cold…
& ready for the finish line just 2k away. I remember thinking in this moment how usually, 2k is nothing. After all, I swim this distance most mornings as a warm up. But this 2k, this one felt never ending. 2 MORE K, ugh!
I made it though. 17k later. On the north side of Lake Windermere, 7h 24minutes, shivering cold and a lot of head wind later. I walked out of the lake unsure whether to laugh or cry, officially a Lake Windermere one way finisher. and 27. I did this on my 27th birthday, August 2022.
Self supported, in Englands largest lake, surrounded by natures beauty and a team better than I could ever imagine.
