I’m Laura!

My life has always revolved around the water and movement. As a lifelong swimmer and passionate yogi, my mission is to create a safe, welcoming space for children and adults of all ages and abilities to connect with their bodies, build confidence, and embrace the transformative power of both practices.

My Story

From a young age, I found my rhythm in the water, competing as a swimmer before diving into the world of open water and long-distance challenges. My adventures have included a solo Lake Windermere swim and an English Channel relay alongside many other 10k events - experiences which have pushed my limits and deepened my love for the water.

Yoga entered my life later as a complementary practice to swimming, but it quickly became so much more. It taught me the magic of body-breath-mind connection, which transformed not just my swims but my entire outlook. Today, I weave these two passions together, sharing their unique benefits with everyone I teach.

My unique approach

My unique, holistic approach enables me to connect with individuals of all ages, tailoring each session to their needs and abilities. By integrating principles of yoga into swimming technique - from cultivating body alignment and awareness to harnessing breath control and a positive mental focus - I guide swimmers toward developing fluid, effortless movement. This approach nurtures confidence and harmony in the water, helping swimmers feel at one with the environment.

Similarly, in yoga, I focus on movement as a meditative practice, helping students discover balance and mindfulness both on the mat and beyond.

My experience

With over a decade of experience teaching and coaching swimming in pools and open water, alongside five years as a yoga facilitator, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a personalised approach to every session.

  • Swimming: ASA Levels 1 & 2 Swimming Teacher, STA Open Water Swim Coaching, SLSGB Beach Lifeguarding.

  • Yoga: 200-hour and 300-hour Yoga Alliance certifications in vinyasa yoga, and yin yoga.

I’ve had the privilege of working with a diverse range of individuals, from nervous beginners to confident open water swimmers, from children finding joy in the pool to adults discovering peace on the mat.

My philosophy

My teaching is grounded in the belief that movement, whether in water or on land, is a path to growth, balance, and self discovery. In swimming, I emphasise body awareness and relaxation, taking a “less is more” approach. My coaching technique will give you the skills and the freedom to enjoy swimming in the sea, the pool, in lakes, in rivers… wherever you want to go!

Yoga adds another layer to this journey, encouraging mindfulness, presence and an intimate connection between breath, body, and mind.

Whether you’re here for the water, the mat, or both, I’d be honoured to join you on your journey.
